Admissions Open for Diploma in Fruit, Vegetable Processing and Bakery Products at UHF Nauni

Solan: Aspiring entrepreneurs looking to build a career in the booming food processing sector now have an opportunity to transform their ideas into successful enterprises. Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni, has invited applications for its one-year, skill-oriented Diploma Programme in Fruit and Vegetable Processing and Bakery Products for the academic session 2026-27.

Run by the Department of Food Science and Technology, the programme is designed to equip students with hands-on training and practical skills required to establish self-employment ventures in food products and bakery items and processing enterprises. The course aims to create job creators rather than job seekers by providing exposure to processing technologies, product development, and entrepreneurship.

Candidates who have passed Class 10+2 with at least 40 percent marks are eligible to apply. There is no upper age limit, making the programme an ideal opportunity for youth, women, farmers and aspiring entrepreneurs seeking to start their own businesses. A total of 35 seats are available.

The last date for submitting applications is August 3, 2026, while counselling will be held on August 10. The total fee for the programme is ₹5,000 which is paid in two installments. The prospectus and application form can be downloaded from the university website www.uhf.ac.in

The applicants need to attach copies of Class 10 and 12 detailed marks sheet, character certificate from the head of the school last attended or from a gazetted officer or concerned Gram Panchayat Pradhan, self-attested copy of reservation certificate(if applicable), bank draft of Rs 100 (Rs 50 for SC/ST) along with the admission form. Application form along with attested photocopies of above listed documents can be sent by registered/speed post in the name of the Assistant Registrar (Academic), Office of the Registrar, Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry, Nauni-Solan (HP)–173 230.  Application form along with other required documents can also be submitted by hand to Room No 217, Administrative Block.

With growing demand for processed and bakery products, the diploma offers a gateway to self-employment and entrepreneurship, enabling graduates to establish their own ventures and contribute to the state’s food processing industry.
