Shimla: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government was ensuring all round development of every section of the society and every part of the state. The Chief Minister said this while presiding over the closing ceremony of district level Kuthah Fair in Seraj Assembly Constituency, today. He also performed Puja at Tungasi Mahamaya temple.
Jai Ram Thakur said that fairs and festivals are part of our rich cultural heritage. He also expressed satisfaction that the people of Seraj area have kept their tradition and culture intact and have made rigorous efforts to promote their culture. He said that the Kuthah fair has still maintained its glory and our rich tradition should be forwarded to future generation as well.
Chief Minister said that the state government has ensured uninterrupted pace of development in the state even during Covid pandemic. He said that it is the commitment of the state government that unprecedented and unparallel development has been witnessed in the state during the present tenure of the government.
Jai Ram Thakur said that women constitute 50 percent of the population of the state, therefore to facilitate them the state government has reduced the bus fare for women by 50 percent in HRTC buses. Besides this, the state government also decided to enhance free electricity from 60 units to 125 units. The decision of the government to provide free electricity of 60 units has benefitted 11 lakh consumers in the state. Similarly, the decision of free water supply in rural areas of the state would benefit 90 percent population of the state.
Chief Minister said that it was a matter of pride for the people of Himachal Pradesh that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the nation from the Ridge, Shimla on the completion of 8 years of central government on 31st May. Ministers and Member of Parliament and about 18 lakh people from across the nation would join the programme from their respective district headquarters. Beside this, crores of population of the country would also be watching live telecast of the programme.
Jai Ram Thakur said that position on which he was today was due to constant sport of the people of Seraj area. He said that all out effort has been made by him to ensure development of Seraj area and to maintain the confidence entrusted on him by the people of the area. Each and every Panchayat of Seraj area has road connectivity and efforts are be made to further connect every village with road facility. Divisional offices of Public Works and Jal Shakti department have been opened in the area along with various other government offices to facilitate the people of Seraj area. A tourism centre has been constructed in Janjheli, which would be inaugurated soon.
Chief Minister announced Rs. 25 lakh for improvement and development of Mela Ground Kuthah and directed officers of PWD to develop the ground as stadium. He announced upgradation of primary school Tungadhar to middle school and upgradation of government high school Shodhadhar to government senior secondary school. He directed to prepare an estimate for construction of community building in Kuthah. He also announced bus service from Janjheli to Karsog and Gadagusaini. He also assured to provide appropriate amount for construction of road from Tungadhar Kenchi Mod to Tugasidhar road. He also directed Jal Shakti department to survey and prepare an estimate of lift drinking water scheme from Odidhar to Pakhridhar.
Chief Minister also directed the officers of PWD to explore possibility of construction of bypass road in Janjheli and to submit the report at the earliest. He asked the authorities to send a survey team of tourism department to explore possibilities of tourism development in Tugasigarh.
Earlier, Tungadhar Panchayat Pardhan, Hemraj Thakur welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for massive development of the area.
Chairman CD Cooperative Society Kamal Rana, Zila Parishad Member Khem Dasi and Meera Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Arindham Chaudhary, Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
