Solan: A three-week Mandarin Learning Programme for the faculty and staff, organised by the Centre of Excellence for Language Learning (CELL) at the Chitrakoot School of Liberal Arts, Shoolini University, concluded on Thursday.

The programme was designed to promote multilingual skills, global awareness, and cultural understanding among the Shoolini community. It was conducted by Ms. Jessie, an experienced Mandarin language trainer, who introduced participants to the basics of Mandarin Chinese, including vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural aspects, through interactive and engaging sessions.
Participants described the programme as a wonderful mix of learning, fun, and cultural discovery. Many appreciated Ms. Jessie’s friendly and innovative teaching methods, which made even complex language concepts easy to grasp.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Purnima Bali, Head Chitrakoot School of Liberal Arts and Director of CELL, said, at Shoolini University, we believe language learning is the gateway to understanding diverse cultures and building global connections. The Mandarin programme reflects our commitment to providing such enriching experiences for both teaching and non-teaching staff.
The successful completion of this programme is yet another step by the university to create a vibrant, globally aware academic environment in line with its vision of promoting liberal arts education and cultural exchange. The Centre of Excellence for Language Learning (CELL) plans to organise more such programmes in the future, strengthening Shoolini University’s efforts to prepare students and staff for a globalised world.
