Solan: A two-day state-level role play and folk dance competition kicked off today at SCERT Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The event was organized by the National Population Education Project (NPEP), with participation from students across nine districts: Bilaspur, Chamba, Kangra, Hamirpur, Kullu, Shimla, Solan, Sirmour, and Una. Most participants were students from Class 8 and 9.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Ashish Kohli, Director of Elementary Education, who praised the students and their teachers for their hard work and dedication. Dr. Sneh Mehta, the project coordinator, served as the stage secretary, while Dr. Triveni Sharma, the project officer, and Associate Professor Rajni Sankhyan, the officiating principal, managed the proceedings. The SCERT staff, including committees for accommodation, refreshments, registration, and certificates, worked diligently to ensure the event’s success.
The jury members included Sanjeev Kumar, Hemant Attri, and Yaahpal Kapoor. The competition’s theme revolved around various transitions, such as changes in technology, family values, the impact of social media and mobile phones, and emotional and physical well-being. District Sirmaur secured the first position, followed by Kangra in second place and Kullu in third.
