Shimla: APG Shimla University, partnering with NextGen, has launched a 34-day mobile counseling campaign designed to bring career guidance directly to students and parents across Himachal Pradesh. The awareness caravan officially set off from the university campus today.
Over the next month, the mobile initiative will travel through various districts in the state. The goal is to provide families with clear information on higher education, scholarships, skill development, and academic tracks that align with modern job markets.

Usha Chauhan, Director of Admissions at the university, noted that the caravan will act as a direct resource for families navigating today’s highly competitive academic landscape. The focus will be on helping students understand which career options offer the best long-term stability and growth.
The initiative also aims to address the often-widening gap between traditional classroom learning and actual workplace demands. Gurkirpal Singh, Assistant Director at CTPL, said the campaign emphasizes skill-based learning and professional development so students can better prepare for what employers are looking for.
University officials stated that the 34-day tour is expected to reach thousands of families, giving them the tools and expert advice needed to make practical, well-informed decisions about the future.
