Shoolini University Expands ‘Pragati’ Program to Boost Rural Women Entrepreneurs

Solan: “Pragati,” a development initiative for rural women entrepreneurs, has moved into its second phase with an on-ground review session at Tikkar Village in the Salogra Panchayat. The project is a collaborative effort between Shoolini University’s Centre for Leadership Coaching and the Shoolini Pehal Foundation.

The visit marked the formal start of Phase 2, building on the groundwork of the first phase where women entrepreneurs, known as “Sakhis,” were provided with training and essential machinery to start their own businesses.

During the session, the participants updated the visiting delegation on their current ventures. The team also outlined a roadmap for the future, discussing expansion plans and support mechanisms designed to help the Sakhis scale their community-owned enterprises.

Shoolini University Pro-Chancellor Vishal Anand highlighted the long-term vision of the initiative. Jay Cziraky, Founder of Denesfa No-End-Co, emphasized that the real challenge lies in understanding the true needs of the community. He noted that meaningful development happens only when resources align with the community’s actual requirements.

Payal Jindal Khanna, Head of the Centre for Leadership Coaching, reaffirmed her commitment to the project. She credited the progress to the guidance of ICF-certified coaches and student mentors, adding that the determination of the rural women remains the driving force behind the program’s success.
