Solan: Bringing laurels to the State of Himachal Pradesh as well as India, The Lawrence School, Sanawar won the Third Position in Global Math Debate organized by UNMATH School, Mumbai. The Global Math Debate champions in the Alpha group from The Lawrence School, Sanawar were Aadya Banik, Amay Mahajan and Krishiv Kapoor.

In what is popularly known as Maha-Kumbh of Math, over fifty thousand students representing five thousand schools from seven nations across the globe participated in the The Global Math Debate competition-2024. The competition spanning over eight months began at School level in August 2024, eventually concluded on March 2025 with the Final International Round declaring winners in the two categories of Alpha and Beta group. The team from The Lawrence School, Sanawar represented by Aadya Banik, Amay Mahajan and Krishiv Kapoor exhibiting their exceptional Mathematics genius spoke on the topic “mathematics in vacuum Cleaner” and managed a podium finish in the International Round securing the third position.
In the first round held at the School level, Out of seven teams representing The Lawrence School, Sanawar, three teams qualified for the regional round(Northern Region). In the regional level competition, three teams from Sanawar were selected to participate in the India Regional Round. Two teams competed in Alpha category and one team competed in the Beta category. Eventually, from the two teams in the Alpha category that were selected for the National round from Sanawar, one made into the international round winning overall the third position. All together ten schools representing their respective countries had competed in the International Round for the coveted trophy.
Rejoicing over this remarkable feat achieved by the young Math-wizards of the School, Himmat Singh Dhillon, the Headmaster said, “Our students no longer fear mathematics, rather they feel Mathematics which is omnipresent in nature around us. I am happy to note that our innovative pedagogy “Campus as Curriculum” that offers experiential learning opportunities is coming to fruition and yielding wonderful results.”
