Shimla: APG Shimla University wrapped up its annual sports meet, JAZBA 2026, drawing strong participation across indoor and outdoor games on campus. The event combined spirited athletic competition with health awareness, bringing students and faculty together over several days of matches.
A central highlight of the festival was the “Step Forward for Mental Well-being” walkathon, organized under the Bharat Abhiman initiative around the theme “Walk, Connect, Support, and Inspire.” Shivam Pratap Singh, IAS, Director of Sports for the Government of Himachal Pradesh and Managing Director of HRTC, flagged off the walk and urged students to stay physically active while prioritizing mental health and community well-being.

The tournament grounds saw intense competition, particularly in Kabaddi. In the women’s division, the “Dangal Divas” secured the championship title after a commanding run. The winning squad featured Anushika Sharma (BRG), Samiksha Sharma (B.Sc. Forensic Science), Christina, Muskan, Harman, Bharti, Payal Sharma, Sheetal (all B.A. LL.B.), and Samiksha Verma (BCVT).
Several individual competitors also earned special recognition during the Kabaddi fixtures. Sahil (B.A. LL.B.) was named the tournament’s top all-rounder and recognized for the best hold. Uday stood out for the most powerful catch from the corner position, while Saurav and Arjun were commended for critical, high-scoring raids.
