APG Shimla University successfully concludes Semester Exams

Shimla: The semester exams for the February–June 2025 session at APG Shimla University ended successfully on Saturday. The exams, which started on June 12, also included re-appear papers for several departments.

Courses covered included Allied and Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Legal Studies (BA.LLB, LLB, LLM), Hospitality and Tourism, Management (MBA, BCom), Media and Mass Communication, Engineering and Technology, Computer Applications, and Science. All registered students attended the exams without any reported issues.

Afzal Khan, Controller of Examinations (COE), confirmed that the process went smoothly and on schedule. He added that students showed great discipline and enthusiasm throughout. The exams were held in two shifts daily—from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. To ensure fairness and transparency, strict checks were in place at entry points. No bags, phones, or electronic devices were allowed. CCTV cameras monitored all exam rooms, and supervisors along with a flying squad ensured proper conduct.

Khan noted that the university followed all its exam policies strictly. Supporting him in the efforts were Deputy COE Vineet Thakur, Superintendent Dr. Maninder Kaur, Head Examiner Dr. Bhavana Verma, and Deputy Examiner Smriti. Together, they ensured high standards and a peaceful environment. The answer sheet evaluation is now underway. Results are expected to be released soon, according to the COE.

Meanwhile, the university is preparing for the next academic session. Prof. Dr. Anand Mohan, Dean of Academics, announced that first-semester classes will start on July 23. Continuing students in odd semesters will begin classes on July 14.

On behalf of the university administration, vice chancellor Prof.Dr.Rajinder Chauhan, Registrar Prof. Dr. R.L. Sharma and Dean of Academics Prof. Dr. Anand Mohan Sharma congratulated all university representatives, faculty members, officers, and employees on the successful completion of the semester examinations. Special congratulations were extended to Controller of Examinations Afzal Khan, Deputy Controller of Examinations Vineet Thakur, Examination Center Superintendent Dr. Maninder Kaur, Deputy Examination Superintendents Atul Dubey and Alka Pathania, Head Examiner Dr. Bhavana Verma, Prof. Dr. Ankit Thakur, Prof. Narendra Kumar, flying squad members, Deputy Examiner Smriti, Office Assistant at the Examination Centre Kamna Thakur, Geeta Chauhan (Dealing Assistant), Lucky Bhardwaj (Dealing Assistant), Bittu Ram and Himanshu (for answer sheet coding and decoding), and Hansraj (for answer sheet stamping) for their contributions.
