Shimla: In a tragic incident, a bus carrying over ten passengers to Shimla met with an accident near Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Among the injured, eight individuals have been transferred to Ner Chowk Medical College for treatment, while the remaining are receiving care at Civil Hospital Sundernagar.
According to the available information, the bus with registration number HP 31-1315, belonging to the Sundernagar depot, commenced its journey from Sundernagar to Shimla on Saturday morning. The bus followed the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway route, passing through Dahar from Kangu and approaching Saros. Unfortunately, as the bus was travelling along the road, the road suddenly collapsed, causing the bus to plunge around 50 feet downwards.
Apart from the driver and conductor, there were ten passengers on board. Promptly upon receiving the information, the local administration arrived at the spot along with a rescue team to commence rescue operations.
Among the injured individuals are the driver, Sunil Kumar, a resident of Dadoh Post Office Upper Behli Sundernagar, and the conductor, Med Ram, a resident of Karehdi Balh. Other passengers injured in the accident include Daulat Ram and his wife Ranjita Devi from Seri Tehsil Balh, Mast Ram from Village Behli Tehsil Arki, District Solan, Balak Ram from Village Tali Post Office Jadol Sundernagar, Hemraj from village Kharota Kangu Sundernagar, Kashmir Singh from village Kasmehda Jadol Sundernagar, Pyare Lal from village Palohta Upper Bahli Sundernagar, Roshan Lal from Tali Jadol Sundernagar, Suresh Kumari (wife of Rakesh Kumar) from Kalpa Kinnaur, Anjali Thakur (daughter of Yashpal) from Kelodhar Chachyot, District Mandi, Ruby (wife of Farid Khan) from Baroti Tehsil Dharampur, District Mandi, and Rohit Kumar (son of Tilak Raj) from Dhanotu Sundernagar.
Out of these individuals, eight, including conductor Med Ram, Daulat Ram and his wife Ranjita, Roshan Lal, Balak Ram, Pyare Lal, Anjali Thakur, and Kashmir Singh, have been referred to Nerchowk Medical College for further medical treatment.
Following the accident, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri engaged in a video call with the bus driver to inquire about the well-being of the injured passengers. The local administration and rescue teams have been working diligently to manage the situation and provide necessary assistance to the victims of this unfortunate incident.
