DBU Americas Achieves Top Accreditation Milestone in the Caribbean

Solan: Desh Bhagat University Americas (DBU Americas) has reached a significant academic milestone by receiving a 3.11 out of 4 rating from the National Accreditation Board (NAB) of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This score is officially recognized as an A+ grade equivalent, positioning DBU Americas among the highest-rated medical universities of Indian origin operating within the Caribbean region. This recognition places the university into an elite group of Caribbean medical institutions distinguished by their strong quality assurance frameworks and internationally benchmarked academic systems.

During a recent media interaction, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, emphasized that this achievement reflects a dedicated commitment to global excellence and academic integrity. He noted that the A+ equivalent rating was awarded based on a comprehensive evaluation of key parameters, including academic governance, a medical curriculum aligned with United States standards, faculty qualifications, research output, and robust student support systems. This accreditation not only strengthens the university’s international credibility but also enhances its competitiveness on a global scale.

The NAB accreditation provides a major boost for the career prospects of DBU Americas students. It supports their eligibility for essential global medical licensing pathways, such as the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), the UK Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB), the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE), and India’s FMGE/NExT. Furthermore, the university’s global recognition is reinforced through its standing with international bodies like FAIMER.

Er. Arun Malik, Director of Operations at DBU Americas, further explained that the institution serves as the Caribbean-based medical branch of Desh Bhagat University in India. It offers a US-style MD program where students complete their pre-clinical education in St. Vincent and the Grenadines before moving on to clinical rotations in the USA, UK, and across the Caribbean. The university remains focused on preparing its graduates for global medical licensure and successful careers in modern healthcare.
