Shimla: The Indian Air Force (IAF), has announced the commencement of the selection process for the Agniveervayu intake of January 2024 under the Agnipath Scheme, Wing Commander and Commanding Officer SVG Reddy informed here today. Unmarried Indian male and female candidates are invited to apply for this esteemed opportunity. Online applications for the selection test are open and will be accepted upto 17th August 2023, until 11:00 pm (IST). The online examination, an integral part of the selection process, is scheduled to commence from 13th October 2023 onwards, he added.
The candidates born between 27th June, 2003 and 27th December, 2006 (both dates inclusive) can apply for the same, he said.
He said that the criteria for selection for candidates with Science subjects, they should have passed their Intermediate/10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from Education Boards recognized by the Center, State, and UT, securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English. Candidates who have completed a three-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology, or Information Technology) are also eligible, provided they obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English during the Diploma course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Vocational Course). He said that candidates who have passed two years of Vocational courses with non-vocational subjects viz Physics and Mathematics from recognized Education Boards are also eligible, given that they have obtained 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational courses (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Vocational Course).
He said that candidates from streams other than Science subjects should have passed their Intermediate/10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream/subject from recognized Education Boards, with a minimum of 50% in aggregate and 50% in English. Besides those who have completed two years of Vocational courses from recognized Education Boards with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational courses (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Vocational courses) are also eligible.
Candidates eligible for the Science Subjects examination can opt to appear in both Science Subjects and other than Science Subjects examinations in one sitting while filling up the online registration form, he said. Applicants are required to pay a registration and examination fee of Rs. 250/- during the application process.
