Solan: In a significant initiative to empower rural women, the Rural Women Entrepreneurs Development Program (PRAGATI) at Shoolini University, hosted an inspiring campus visit for a group of women entrepreneurs (sakhis) from Sanhol and Salogra panchayats.
The visit was organised under the guidance of Ms. Payal Jindal Khanna, Deputy Director and Head Centre for Leadership Coaching at Shoolini University and saw enthusiastic participation from the sakhis along with their respective panchayat heads, Ms. Kusum and Mr. Sanjay.

The day began with a warm welcome and a special lunch interaction with senior dignitaries of Shoolini University, including Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla, Pro-Chancellor Mr. Vishal Anand, and President Innovation and Marketing Prof. Ashish Khosla. The discussion focused on ways to strengthen the entrepreneurial journey of rural women and expand the impact of the PRAGATI programme by enabling trained sakhis to mentor others in nearby villages.
The visitors were given a guided tour of the university’s organic farm and state-of-the-art Food Technology Lab. The women were introduced to various food processing techniques and industrial equipment that could help them scale up their own micro-enterprises. They also engaged with Dr. Somesh Sharma, Dean of the School of Agriculture, and Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Dean of the School of Bioengineering and Food Technology, who provided valuable insights and motivation.
The highlight of the day was an interaction with Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla, who lauded the spirit and determination of the sakhis. In a moving gesture, he announced his personal financial support to the women entrepreneurs, reaffirming the university’s deep commitment to inclusive, sustainable, and community-driven development.
