Guwahati: Assam’s largest women voluntary organization Aparupa, which involve over 70,000 ladies, organized Aparupa Mahiyasi Nari Awards 2024 at Gauhati medical college auditorium on 28 April, which was inaugurated by Asom Sahitya Sabha’s vice-president Mrinalni Devi.
The program witnessed the release of its mouthpiece Aparupa aling with several books including the one on life struggles of Sneha Devi penned by Runa Laila in presence of veteran Bollywood actress Mandakini. More than 20 distinguished women of Assam were felicitated and honoured with certificates and awards in the function. Assamese actor Brajen Bora, singer Anima Chowdhury with many others were presented Nipon Goswami awards.
Lifetime achievement award was presented to national award winner actress Moloya Goswami. Around 20 specially abled persons were offered wheelchairs, tricycles and bicycles and financial assistance was provided to some other people. Competitions in several categories like Mrs Aparupa, Ms Aparupa etc were organized, where Karabi Goswami emerged as the winner of Mrs Aparupa 2024.
