Palampur: The campus of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV) was abuzz with energy as the university concluded its vibrant, three-day celebration of National Sports Day-2025 on Sunday.

The event, which began on August 29 to honor the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty across all constituent colleges.
In his message, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Naveen Kumar highlighted the importance of physical activity in education. “Sports and physical fitness are integral to the holistic development of students,” he stated. “A healthy and active student community forms the very foundation of academic excellence and social progress.”
Organized by the Students’ Welfare Organization, the university’s Khel Parisar (sports complex) became a hub of activity. The program kicked off with a tribute to Major Dhyan Chand, followed by a collective fitness pledge taken by the students. The diverse lineup of events included thrilling badminton matches, high-energy tug of war contests, and wellness-focused yoga and meditation sessions, all reinforcing the values of teamwork and well-being.
The celebration successfully paid homage to a national icon while inspiring the entire campus community to embrace sports and fitness as a part of their daily lives.
