Solan: Shoolini University has once again solidified its position as the premier institution of higher learning in Himachal Pradesh, according to the 2025 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) released today by the Union Education Ministry. The university has climbed to the 69th position in the all-India universities category, an improvement from its 70th rank last year.
Reaffirming its academic and research dominance in the region, Shoolini is the only university from the state to feature in the nation’s top 100. The institution also showcased its strength in specialised fields, securing an impressive 44th rank for its Pharmacy program and placing in the 101–150 band for Engineering. In a notable debut, Shoolini ranked in the 11–50 band in the newly introduced Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) category, highlighting its strong commitment to social impact and sustainability.
The university’s leadership celebrated the achievement while setting even more ambitious goals for the future. Chancellor Prof. P. K. Khosla congratulated the faculty and students, stating, “This year we have improved our NIRF ranking from 70 to 69. Let us now plan to jump by ten points to reach 59. Everything is doable provided we all join hands to achieve this target.”
This sentiment was echoed by Pro-Vice Chancellor Vishal Anand, who described the ranking as another proud milestone. “This is the result of the great work by our faculty, students, and staff. Our focus now is to work towards a Top 50 rank. Research has always been the soul of Shoolini University, and we are determined to take it further,” he said.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Atul Khosla praised the university community’s dedication and reaffirmed Shoolini’s global vision. “This achievement is a proof of the innovation and excellence that define Shoolini University. The NIRF 2025 results inspire us to continue our journey towards becoming one of the top universities in the world,” he added.
