Solan: The 12th Flower Festival at Shoolini University proved to be a big hit with a display of about 150 varieties of flower varieties. The event aimed to promote the university’s theme, “Leading Happy and Healthy Life with Shoolini.”

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali inaugurated the festival, attended by representatives from Geeta Adarsh School, BL Central, St. Luke’s, St. Mary’s, Government High School Anji, and Government School Dharja. Thespian Kanwaljit Singh was among those who visited the flower show and appreciated the display of flowers and bouquets.
The festival featured an exhibition of paintings by local artists depicting nature. A stall displaying items made from waste materials highlighted sustainability, with decorative pieces, jewelry, and utility items crafted from discarded materials. Visitors participated in interactive activities such as flower crown-making, pottery, and painting. The festival provided a platform for community engagement, creativity, and environmental awareness.
Mr. Suresh Sharma, Landscape Officer, Shoolini University said, the 12th Flower Festival at Shoolini University brought together a diverse collection of flowers and creative exhibits, encouraging appreciation for nature and sustainability. This event is an opportunity to showcase the hard work put into maintaining green spaces while inspiring students and visitors to connect with the environment. Mr Suresh Sharma also stated that the Flower Fest will remain open until Monday evening for visitors from Solan and nearby areas.
