Shoolini University, Kunzum launch unique reading-focused Minor for students

Solan: In a unique academic collaboration, Shoolini University has partnered with Kunzum, a renowned chain of community-driven bookstores in Delhi-NCR, to launch a new academic programme, a Minor in Reading Culture and Literary Studies. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this innovative partnership was signed by Dr. Ashoo Khosla, Chief Learning Officer at Shoolini University, and Mr. Ajay Jain, Founder of Kunzum.

The minor is a 12-credit programme delivered across four courses. Students enrolled in the programme will read 36 carefully curated books, participate in interactive sessions with authors, and engage in community reading initiatives. On completion, students will receive a joint certification from Shoolini University and Kunzum. They will also be eligible for a Level 3 “Bachelor’s in Reading” credential awarded by Kunzum.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ashoo Khosla said,this collaboration reflects our commitment to nurturing thoughtful, expressive, and critically aware individuals. Kunzum’s community-first approach, combined with our academic vision, is creating something truly impactful.”

Ajay Jain, Founder of Kunzum, added, Kunzum is not just a bookstore it’s a platform that connects people and ideas. Through this partnership, we aim to make reading a transformative experience for students, beyond just academics.”

As part of the MoU, both institutions will also explore collaborations beyond the classroom, including co-hosting the Shoolini Literature Festival, author talks, literary panels, and creative writing workshops — all aimed at enriching the literary ecosystem on campus.

Kunzum is a chain of bookstores across Delhi-NCR that also function as vibrant community spaces. Known for its curated book collections, author events, and themed book clubs  including CEO and LGBTQ+ reading groups, Kunzum redefines how people experience literature.
