Shoolini University’s Poonam Nanda honoured with C-Positive Award for her courage and cancer awareness work

Solan: Mrs. Poonam Nanda, Director of Sustainability and Community Engagement at Shoolini University, has been honoured with the prestigious C-Positive Award by the Rising India Foundation and the Texas School of Mental Health.

The award recognises her exceptional courage as a three-time cancer survivor and her continuous efforts to spread awareness about early detection and mental strength while battling cancer.

The C-Positive Awards are a unique initiative that aim to change the way society views cancer. Traditionally seen as a word that evokes fear and sadness, the letter “C” has now been redefined to represent Compassion, Comfort, Care, Courage, and Confidence. The awards honour individuals who have either personally faced cancer or contributed meaningfully to creating awareness and support systems in society.

Mrs. Nanda was recognised not only for her personal strength but also for her ongoing work to inspire others. Her dedication to spreading awareness, encouraging timely diagnosis, and supporting those in need has made a lasting impact especially among women who often delay medical attention.

The event brought together survivors, caregivers, doctors, and changemakers from across the country. Mrs. Nanda’s presence and story stood out as a shining example of resilience, reminding everyone of the strength of the human spirit.
