Solan: Sargam Kalamanch, an organization in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, is undertaking a unique initiative to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the district. At Kothi Devra Senior Secondary School, near Solan, they organized a training workshop where children from nursery to 12th grade were seen dancing together.
The organization aims to revive the fading traditional folk culture of Solan. Under the guidance of Jiya Lal Thakur, a renowned folk artist from Solan and president of Sargam Kalamanch, children are being introduced to various aspects of their cultural heritage through week-long workshops.
Thakur emphasized the importance of passing on this knowledge to the younger generation to ensure the preservation of Solan’s unique culture. This initiative not only teaches children about their roots but also fosters a sense of pride and connection to their heritage.
