UHF Nauni Shines in NIRF 2025, Named 12th best Agriculture University in India

Solan: Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni, has achieved a top-tier position in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, solidifying its status as one of the country’s leading specialised institutions. The university was ranked 12th nationwide in the category of agriculture, forestry, and veterinary universities.

The results, announced in New Delhi by Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, placed UHF Nauni in three separate categories. In the comprehensive ‘Agriculture and Allied Sectors’ category, which includes all ICAR institutes, the university secured the 20th position. Additionally, it was placed in the 101–150 band among all universities and in the 151–200 band in the overall national category.

This year’s performance marks a period of steady growth for the university, with its overall score improving from 54.67 in 2024 to 55.53 in 2025. According to the NIRF report, this progress was driven by enhanced performance across key parameters, including student strength, faculty qualifications and experience, research publications, and regional diversity. The university improved its score in 9 of the 17 assessment metrics.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel commented on the achievement, stating, “The university has been a consistent performer in these rankings, and we have managed to improve our overall score this year, which reflects the positive work being done. However, we are also analysing the areas where our performance did not meet expectations so that corrective measures can be taken for achieving even better results in the future.”
