Victory Through Harmony: Sanawar Hosts IPSC MUN’25 with 200 Students from 15 Prestigious Schools

The historic campus of The Lawrence School, Sanawar, became a global stage this week as it proudly launched the Indian Public School Model United Nations Conference (IPSC MUN’25). Over 200 of the brightest young minds from 15 of India’s most prestigious schools have gathered to deliberate on the world’s most pressing challenges.

Braving the inclement weather, these future leaders are set to grapple with complex global issues, including armed conflict, the influence of business on geopolitics, financial instability, human trafficking, and severe food insecurity. The conference brings together delegates from institutions such as Mayo College, Ajmer; Daly College, Indore; The Scindia School, Gwalior; and Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, among others.

The guiding theme for the three-day summit is the Latin motto, “Victoria Concordia Crescit”—Victory through Harmony. This principle set a collaborative tone from the outset, encouraging students to seek resolution through dialogue. The inaugural ceremony began with a vibrant cultural dance and a soulful Saraswati Vandana, followed by a powerful video introducing the theme.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Justice Rajive Bhalla (Retd.), former Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. In a compelling keynote address, he called for a united effort to “Make the World Great Again,” emphasizing that genuine harmony is only achievable when humanity transcends national boundaries and views itself as one.

Mr. Himmat Singh Dhillon, Headmaster of The Lawrence School, Sanawar, underscored the conference’s educational mission in his vote of thanks. “A platform like this aims to instil in the younger generation a global mindset—one that champions justice and harmony across the world,” he stated, while also felicitating the members of the Executive Board and the Secretariat.

The conference was officially declared open as Viraj Gupta, the Secretary General of IPSC MUN’25, struck the gavel. The resounding sound marked the beginning of intense debates and negotiations, promising to shape these young participants into the thoughtful and capable global citizens of tomorrow.
