Nahan: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu virtually inaugurated a new Community Health Centre (CHC) at Nohradhar in the Renuka Assembly constituency of Sirmaur district, aiming to improve healthcare access for remote communities.
Built at a cost of 6.92 crore rupees, the six-bedded health facility will serve roughly 50,000 residents across 20 gram panchayats and 47 surrounding villages, offering round-the-clock medical services close to home. Two medical officers and a staff nurse have already been posted to the facility to handle daily patient care.

Addressing the virtual gathering, the Chief Minister criticized the previous administration for leaving hospitals operating at just 35 percent staff strength, noting that the current government aims to push that figure above 70 percent by March 31, 2027. He emphasized that the state is actively upgrading medical colleges, district hospitals, and local health centers to ensure reliable care in rural regions.
Alongside the health sector updates, the Chief Minister announced that the Government Senior Secondary School in Sangrah will be converted into a CBSE-affiliated school to improve educational access. He also assured locals that the government would consider establishing a 5,000-liter-per-day milk chilling plant in the area to support the rural economy.
The virtual inauguration was attended in Shimla by Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Rural Development Minister Anirudh Singh, and other senior officials, while local leaders, Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Verma, and SP Nishchint Negi joined from Nohradhar.
