SJVN clears scrap and streamlines workplaces during government special campaign 6.0

Shimla: SJVN has wrapped up a sweeping round of workplace cleanups and administrative streamlining as part of Special Campaign 6.0, an initiative backed by the Ministry of Power to improve office efficiency and environmental management.

Across its corporate headquarters and project sites, the public sector undertaking tackled both physical waste and paperwork backlogs. Teams safely disposed of 13.32 tonnes of used batteries—including 7,500 kilograms from the corporate office and 5,820 kilograms from the Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station—generating over ₹16.11 lakh in recovery value. An additional 25 tonnes of e-waste and unserviceable items, such as 800 kilograms of worn-out tires, have also been earmarked for proper disposal to free up workspace and protect the environment.

On the administrative side, SJVN cleared roughly 322 pending files weighing a combined 585 kilograms. The company also worked to simplify internal rules, speed up public grievance resolutions, and run targeted cleanliness drives across 14 of its regional establishments.

Officials emphasized that combining waste reduction with disciplined record management helps foster a more accountable and sustainable work culture across all of the company’s offices.
